Are We Being Lied To?

Yes. Psychomedia Perpetrator Disorder is a term coined by Professor Alfred "Coach" Powell to describe the process of media copycatting that takes place in the nation’s communities when its members imitate what they see and hear in the media. Over time, if nothing is done to address these misconceptions, the misinformation becomes perceived and accepted as legitimate and the lies begin to sound like the truth. It is out of this environment that the need for balance grew and Professor Powell’s book Hip Hop Hypocrisy: When Lies Sound Like the Truth was born.

The campaign takes a bold step at reversing this negative occurrence by systematically returning the people back to responsibility and accountability. This can be achieved through re-socialization ignited by positive breakthrough methods devised by Parentpoints, Inc. and the Human Motivation Council. This will the stimulate natural analytical processes (S.N.A.P.) to unlock hidden human potential and achieve success.

What Do You Mean by Generation NAP?

Nap: 1 : to sleep briefly especially during the day : DOZE; 2 : to be off guard.
Generation Nap is a term established to describe a generation of people lacking the wisdom necessary to achieve balance through discipline and order. They lack this wisdom because somewhere in the breakdown of family and community order, they missed key instruction that before this breakdown would have been prescribed by the elders of the community. Generation refers to the people, whatever the age, who are affected, and Nap refers to the breakdown itself. As history and our current social condition shows us, we are most vulnerable when we are caught off guard.

We have a growing number of teenagers and young adults with parents and grandparents who are 40 years of age or younger; almost half of what it would ordinarily be. Imagine a timeline that plots the lives of three generations. See how it overlaps? This overlap illustrates the reduced span of wisdom that is generated from age and experience, and is usually passed down from one generation to the next.

We now have adults who act like teenagers, and grandparents who act like young adults in their early to mid 20’s. This gives life to a new generation of babies having babies. The whole Nap process begins again, moving us further and further away from the natural or divine order of things. This process leaves us with a class of people who are regressing from the advanced level of human evolution to a more primitive being that is inclined to avoid natural thought and respond more by pure animal instinct, merely reacting and not considering the consequences of their actions.

What is S.N.A.P.?

S.N.A.P. is a campaign designed to rouse us from the stigma of Generation Nap and put us back on guard and back in control of ourselves, our families, our neighborhoods and our communities. This active and intensive movement will restore order and Stimulate Natural Analytical Processes in a S.N.A.P.

Spearheaded by the Human Motivational Council and Parentpoints, Inc, this campaign uses input from partner organizations and focus groups across the country to address the critical need to educate parents, families, schools and churches about how to guide our community members toward actively restoring an environment of beneficial family and community values. Phase One lays the groundwork by re-introducing communities to value-oriented concepts through mass communication, such as radio and media. Phase Two will draw on the energy and excitement of Phase One and begin the educational process that will invoke lasting positive change in the black communities.

S.N.A.P. reaches out to the individuals that make up the community, acknowledging that individual growth positively impacts the family; family growth positively impacts the community; community growth positively impacts the city, and so forth. Step by step, person by person, we begin to revese the negative impact of the past and restore balance.
