A graduate of The L'academie des Couturiers in Ottawa,
Canada and former student of the Parsons School of Design
in NYC,Designer Korto Momolu-Briggs has been keeping a
low profile. Designing since the age of 16 the Liberian
native has risen out of the sidelines and is ready to
claim her spot in the sometimes dull and extremely trendy
fashon industry.
The
design concept is simple:
With
clean lines, cool and funky color schemes the Korto Momolu
line is full of surprises and far from being dull. Steering
clear of catchy one season trends the designer seems to
be keeping ahead of the pack.
The Korto Momolu (Cutoe Momolu) line is geared towards
women ages 25-40 and the more hip, urban teen line Nineteenseventyfive
is for the 16-24 demographic. The KortoMomolu woman is
secure, highly self-confident and is very aware of her
body (curves included). She's a mother, wife as well as
a career professional. The Nineteenseventyfive young woman
is full of confidence and knows her place in the fashion
scene. She's not afraid to go against the grain.
With the launch of her handbag collection in Spring of
2003 the Label is heading into new territory with a new
group of fashionistas jumping on the bandwagon. Simply
put, she's here to stay , so get ready ....because the
rule book just went out of the window!
